The thought of losing a baby is unimaginable, whether it occurs shortly after pregnancy or weeks after birth.
Often, the passing of a child is handled more compassionately than that of an adult in a hospital setting. However, the journey of a mother and her family without that child is profound, and having a supportive community of Death Doulas who understand pregnancy loss is essential, even in cases of, as it signifies a mother's brief yet meaningful existence.
This course is vital for opening discussions around maternal and child loss, honoring the little ones who have touched our lives.
Conversations about death are crucial; recognizing that death is not an enemy rather how we respond to it is something I feel passionate about sharing.
We aim to explore more comfortable ways to navigate grief. By "holding space" for women to express their thoughts and feelings, we facilitate the integration of their stories into their lives, allowing grief to flow naturally as they emerge into their new selves.
Every pregnancy carries the risk of loss for mother and baby, and as a Birth Doula, I have come to realize how real this possibility is as I continue to support woman during these life changing time in pregnancy and birth and a short time postpartum.
While it may seem extreme to expect such outcomes, they are a reality during this profound phase of a woman's life. Despite advances in modern medicine, some women will inevitably face loss and sorrow, and they deserve a compassionate listener who can meet their needs. This course will foster open dialogue about death and loss, covering topics such as green funerals and respectful management of little bodies.
Be the person she can rely on, offering a clear and strong presence during her vulnerable moments, guiding her through the intense emotions she will encounter.
